Common Ground Committee

Wallace Farm, Inc. of Advance, North Carolina has herein established and will support a citizens group to be named the Common Ground Committee for the following purposes and will be implemented in the following manner:

The Purpose of the Committee will be to meet regularly with committee members to hear and consider concerns of any person, group, or neighborhood regarding the operation of the Wallace Farm, Inc.’s composting operation and to educate committee members about the composting operation.

The Committee will meet at least every three (3) months or more often as it may be deemed necessary or appropriate by the Committee.

The Committee will meet at the Wallace Farm, Inc.’s offices or such other place as the Committee may designate from time to time.

Wallace Farm, Inc. will select volunteers, from the surrounding areas, to serve on the Common Ground Committee.

The Committee will consist of approximately eight (8) members who will serve for a term of one (1) year each and be selected and appointed as follows:

One representative employed by and selected by Wallace Farm, Inc. who will serve as Chairperson of the Committee for the first year.

One representative from a recognized environmental group, such as the local chapter of the Sierra Club; will be selected by the committee.

Two representatives selected by Wallace Farm, Inc. located NNE and NNW of the facility.

One representative selected by Wallace Farm, Inc. from Pinebrook Elementary School.

One representative selected by Wallace Farm, Inc. from Raylen Vineyards

Two representatives selected by Wallace Farm, Inc. located SSE of the facility.

The Committee will make every effort, as a group and individually, to work together for the common good of the surrounding community and Wallace Farm, Inc. in a civil and non-confrontational manner. In the event a majority of the Committee members believe a member is a hindrance to the process, then such member will be removed.  Any member who misses three (3) meetings in a row shall be replaced by the Chairperson of the Committee; any vacancy by resignation or death will be replaced in the same manner.  The role of the committee shall be advisory.
